How to convince my mom to let me go on vacation with my friend and her parents?

My friend, her parents, and one of our other friends are going to the Dominican Republic and they want me to come. My mom keeps saying how the dominican republic is really unsafe and pretty much how if I go she thinks I'm gonna die. She keeps bringing up how that girl went to aruba and got killed.
