Exchange rate question?

I am going on honeymoon to Aruba. For �500, I will get just under 1500 Aruban Guilder. What I am unsure of, is whether I will get more for my money over there than I would at home? As a random example, if a loaf of bread costs �1 in the UK, is the rate the same eg: 1 guilder for a loaf of bread out there meaning it costs less than half what it would here, or does the rate balance out equally meaning I would just pay out a higher number of guilders? I apologise if I have worded this in a somewhat confusing manner!!
