I really do hate to ask this but I have to?

please tell me if I'm being insensitive. You remember that girl,the beautiful blond that went missing in Aruba, Natalee Holloway. Parents, I am terrified of having a child for these type of reasons. Would you let your stunning 18 year old go away they way Natalee's mom did? I mean, no offense, but what do parents think their kids will get up to? Maybe it's because I grew up in a strict home, I don't know, but I would NEVER let my 18 girl go away for a fun vacation like that. Am I being mean?
