I don't know what to do with my dog when i'm in L.A. for this weekend, please help?

Alright, I have TONS of family in L.A., I might be going there this weekend, which I dread doing because they don't like my dog. My dog gets along fine with all my little cousins, but my teenage cousins think he's "disgusting" and are afraid of him. My dad is very strict about me taking out my dog when we're in L.A., usually he has to stay inside in a tiny space (well for him) He's a jack russell and does not do well staying indoors all day. Sometimes my parents will take him to play with my uncles dog. My dog is very very attached to me and i love him very much, and I show alot of affection to him. Ex; ill kiss him on the head and let him lick my face. My family has that mentality that animals are suppose to be treated like crap, so they think my affection for him is nasty. I'm usually busy when I go to L.A., and I hate having my dog in that tiny space, basically neglected. sometimes him and my uncles dog fight, which is why I cant have him over there all the time. What can I do? And a kennel is not an option, sorry.
